Today we left our hometown of Minneapolis for the beginning of what is surely to be an EPIC adventure!   We are on our way to the Wild West! - Rocky Mountains, National Parks and even the Grand Canyon - it is going to be an EPIC adventure.

We headed out this morning on our Wild West Adventure.   We picked up some McDonalds on our way out of the city for breakfast - I sure do love those McGriddles .

The drive went by pretty quickly so we decided to stop at a mall for some shopping.  It was an outlet mall, so we got some really good deals!  I got a new purse, a pair of sandals and a new outfit.  I found these really great sunglasses that I wanted to buy really badly, but they were $200 and that's just way to expensive for me.  I know we'll be spending a lot of money on our road trip, so now is the time for scrimping!

We had some food in the car with us that we ate for lunch, so we didn't spend much money there, but once we arrived in Walnut Grove we stopped for a delicious dinner at Applebees.  I had the Oriental Chicken Salad - it's sooooooo good.  That is definitely a favorite meal of mine.  Loved it!    So after dinner, we drove directly to our campground and plugged the RV in.   We were lucky to have a reservation because the campground was packed!   There were a lot of families with little kids running around.  Instead of being social - we just set up our little canopy and watched "The X-Factor"

After setting up camp and our delicious dinner - we headed over to the Little House on the Prairie.  This was a favorite book and TV show of mine, so I was very excited to see where the REAL Laura Ingalls Wilder lived.   We go to see her house and they have a little museum next to it, where we could see what life was like in the pioneer days.   There was also a gift shop that had penny candy like they had in Oelson's Mercantile and I got a couple postcards to send home to Mom.   Super fun stop and I loved learning more about Little House on the Prairie.
